Recipes for Okara
Okara Burgers:
Ingredients: 150 g Okara, 150 g oat flakes, 75 g sun-flower seeds, 1 onion, vegetarian soup cube, garlic, spicy salt. 1 red pepper (or 1 grated carrot or ½ a grated courgette) oil, bread-crumbs, (Tofunaise)
Preparation:
- Mix Okara and oat-flakes.
- Chop sun-flower seeds and add in.
- Finely chop the onion.
- Cut the pepper into small pieces.
- Mix all ingredients and allow to stand for short period.
- Form small burgers and coat in breadcrumbs (or place in a baking tin and roast in the oven).
- Fry golden-brown in a slightly oiled pan.
Okara Spread:
80 g damp Oakra, 1 clove of garlic, vegetable soup seasoning, 1 tsp mild paprika powder, a little chopped parsley, if desired 1-2 tbsp of cashew nuts. Place all ingredients into the mixer and mix until creamy, leave in a cool place.
Okara Porridge:
After having prepared your soy drink in your Vegan Star, remove all the leftovers while still warm and add maple syrup, dates or mashed banana. Makes a very tasty dish either for breakfast or supper!
